About Jean Fayard
Jean Fayard (1902-1978) was a French writer and journalist best known for winning the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 1931 for his novel Mal d'amour, as well as the Prix Louis-Barthou in 1977 for Je m'éloigne. Born in Paris, he succeeded his father as director of the family-owned Éditions Fayard publishing house in 1936 and authored numerous novels including Oxford et Margaret and La guerre intérieure.
