About Jean Blanzat

Jean Blanzat (1906–1977) was a French novelist and member of the French Resistance in the Groupe du musée de l'Homme, who debuted in 1929 and won the Grand prix du roman de l'Académie française in 1942 for L'Orage du matin despite the Occupation. Post-Liberation, he served as editor-in-chief of Éditions Grasset (1945–1953), contributed to Gallimard and Le Figaro, and achieved major recognition with the Prix Femina in 1964 for his novel Le Faussaire. His notable works also include La Gartempe, L'Iguane, and Septembre.English
