Janet Flanner (1892–1978) was an American journalist and writer best known as the Paris correspondent for The New Yorker from 1925 to 1975, writing under the pen name Genêt; her "Letter from Paris" columns covered art, politics, culture, and major events like World War II. U.S. National Book Award for Arts and Letters in 1966, her novel The Cubical City (1926), and Paris Was Yesterday. 1958.
