Janet Evanovich (born April 22, 1943) is an American author best known for her Stephanie Plum mystery series, starting with One for the Money, which has sold over 200 million copies worldwide and frequently topped the New York Times bestseller list. She began her career writing romance novels under the pseudonym Steffie Hall before transitioning to crime fiction, earning awards including the Dilys Award, Lefty Award, and Crime Writers' Association New Blood Dagger.
