About Janet Browne

Elizabeth Janet Browne (born 30 March 1950) is a British historian of science renowned for her two-volume biography of Charles Darwin, Charles Darwin: Voyaging (1995) and Charles Darwin: The Power of Place (2002), which won the Pfizer Award, James Tait Black Memorial Prize, and W. H. Heinemann Prize. She has held prominent positions including Aramont Professor of the History of Science at Harvard University and served as president of the British Society for the History of Science and the History of Science Society.
