About Jan Mark

Jan Mark (1943-2006) was a British author renowned for her children's and young adult literature, winning the Carnegie Medal twice—for Thunder and Lightnings (1976) and Handles (1983)—among over fifty novels, plays, and short stories she produced after leaving teaching in 1974.
