James Krüss

James Krüss (1926–1997) was a German author of children's books, born on Heligoland, who gained prominence after World War II with works influenced by Erich Kästner. His notable books include The Lighthouse on Lobster Cliffs, My Great Grandfather and I, and his arguably most famous Timm Thaler (1962), for which he received the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1968, the highest honor in children's literature.
