About Jacques de Lacretelle
Jacques de Lacretelle (1888–1985) was a French novelist best known for his works Silbermann (1922), which addressed antisemitism and won the Prix Femina, and the four-volume family saga Les Hauts Ponts (1932–1935). He received the Grand Prix du roman de l'Académie française for Amour nuptial (1930) and was elected to the Académie française in 1936, becoming the third member of his family to achieve this honor.
