Jacques Borel (1925-2002) was a French novelist, poet, translator, and critic best known for his Prix Goncourt-winning novel L'Adoration (1965, Eng. The Bond), a semiautobiographical work exploring a son's relationship with his widowed mother in Proustian style, followed by sequels including Le Retour (1970) and La Dépossession (1973).
