Jack Hodgins

Jack Hodgins (born October 3, 1938) is a Canadian novelist and short story writer raised in Merville, Comox Valley, British Columbia, best known for works like The Invention of the World (1977), The Resurrection of Joseph Bourne (1979; Governor General's Award), Broken Ground (1998; Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize), and Spit Delaney's Island (1976; Eaton's BC Book Award). He has received major honors including the Order of Canada (2009), Lieutenant Governor's Award for Literary Excellence (2006), and George Woodcock Lifetime Achievement Award (2006), and taught creative writing at the University of Victoria until 2002. jackhodgins.ca, ABC BookWorld
