About Herta Müller

Herta Müller (born 1953) is a Romanian-born German novelist, poet, and essayist whose works depict the landscape of the dispossessed under Romania's Ceaușescu dictatorship, including notable titles like The Land of Green Plums, The Hunger Angel, The Passport, Nadirs, and The Appointment. She received the 2009 Nobel Prize in Literature for her poetic prose and frankness, along with other awards such as the Kleist Prize (1994) and International Dublin Literary Award (1998)
