About Herbert P. Bix
Herbert P. Bix (1938-2025) was an American historian specializing in modern Japanese history and imperialism. His seminal work, Hirohito and the Making of Modern Japan (2000), won the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction in 2001 and offered a revisionist view of Emperor Hirohito's active role in wartime decisions.
