About Herbert Feis

Herbert Feis (1893-1972) was an American historian, economist, and former U.S. State Department advisor on international economic affairs during the Hoover and Roosevelt administrations. U.S. diplomatic history during World War II and its aftermath, most notably Between War and Peace: The Potsdam Conference (1960), for which he won the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1961, along with works like Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin (1957) and The Road to Pearl Harbor (1950).
