Harry Mazer and Peter Lerangis

Harry Mazer (1925-2016) was an American author of realistic historical fiction for young adults, drawing from his World War II experiences where he earned a Purple Heart; notable works include The Last Mission, Snow Bound (adapted for TV), The Solid Gold Kid, and the Boy at War trilogy. He received multiple ALA Best Books designations, the 2001 Knickerbocker Award, and the 2003 ALAN Award for contributions to young adult literature. Simon & Schuster
