About Hansol Jung

Hansol Jung is a South Korean playwright and translator who moved to apartheid-era South Africa at age six with her family before returning to South Korea and later studying in the US, earning an MFA in playwriting from Yale School of Drama in 2014. She is best known for plays including Wolf Play, Cardboard Piano, and Wild Goose Dreams, which have been widely produced and earned her the Whiting Award, Lucille Lortel Award for Best Play, and Obie Award for Playwriting. Jung has also written for television series such as Tales of the City (2019) and Pachinko (2022).
