About Hanna Pylväinen

Hanna Pylväinen is an American novelist of Finnish descent born in 1982. Her debut novel We Sinners (2012) drew on her experience growing up in a Finnish-American religious community. The End of Drum-Time (2023) was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction and the PEN/Faulkner Award, and was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction. Pylväinen holds an MFA from the University of Michigan.
