Gloria Whelan

Gloria Whelan (born 1923) is an American author renowned for her children's and young adult fiction, particularly historical novels. She won the National Book Award for Young People's Literature in 2000 for Homeless Bird, her most notable work, and has authored many others including the Mackinac Island trilogy and the Russian Saga quartet.
