About Gitta Sereny

Gitta Sereny (1921-2012) was an Austrian-British biographer, historian, and investigative journalist renowned for her in-depth interviews with figures like child murderer Mary Bell and Nazi commandant Franz Stangl, authoring notable works such as The Case of Mary Bell (1972), Into That Darkness (1974), and Albert Speer: His Battle with Truth (1995), the latter earning her the Duff Cooper Prize and James Tait Black Memorial Prize. She was appointed CBE in 2004 for services to journalism.
