Gilles Leroy

Gilles Leroy is a French novelist born on December 28, 1958, in Bagneux, Hauts-de-Seine, best known for his novel Alabama Song, which won the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 2007. Other notable works include Machines à sous (Prix Valery Larbaud 1999), Grandir (Prix Millepages and Prix Cabourg 2004), and Zola Jackson (Prix Eté du Livre 2010). He has also received the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2005 and is recognized for his contributions to French literature, including theatre pieces like Le Jour des fleurs.
