About George Dillon
George Hill Dillon (1906–1968) was an American poet and editor best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning collection The Flowering Stone (1931), which chronicles his love affair with Edna St. Vincent Millay, and for co-translating Baudelaire's Flowers of Evil (1936) with her. He served as editor of Poetry magazine from 1937 to 1949 and translated Racine's plays, including Three Plays of Racine (1961). Notable achievements include the 1932 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
