Geoffrey O'Brien

Geoffrey O'Brien (born 1948) is an American poet, critic, editor, and cultural historian best known for his works on film, music, crime fiction, and cultural history. He served as editor-in-chief of the Library of America from 1998 until 2017 and has contributed extensively to publications like the New York Review of Books. Notable works include Hardboiled America, The Phantom Empire, and The Fall of the House of Walworth.
