Geoffrey Keynes

Sir Geoffrey Langdon Keynes (1887-1982) was a British surgeon and bibliographer renowned for his pioneering work in blood transfusion, breast cancer surgery, and myasthenia gravis treatment, as well as his extensive scholarship on William Blake and other English authors. His most notable literary works include bibliographies and editions of William Blake's poetry and prose, such as A Bibliography of William Blake (1921) and The Life of William Harvey (1966), the latter earning the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. He was knighted in 1955 and instrumental in establishing Blake as a central figure in English literature.
