About Genya Turovskaya
Genya Turovskaya is a Ukrainian-American poet, translator, and psychotherapist born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1973, who grew up in the Bronx, New York, after immigrating to the US. She earned an MFA in comparative literature from Bard College in 2005 and has authored several chapbooks and the full-length poetry collection The Breathing Body of This Thought (2019), for which she received the Whiting Award for Poetry in 2020. Her translations of Russian poets, including Elena Fanailova's The Russian Version which won the Best Translated Book of Poetry award in 2010, have appeared alongside her original work in prominent journals like Chicago Review and Conjunctions.
