About Gene Kemp
Gene Kemp (1926-2015) was an English children's author best known for her Cricklepit School series, particularly The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler (1977), which won the Carnegie Medal and the Children's Rights Workshop award. She debuted with The Prime of Tamworth Pig (1972) and also wrote ghost stories, fantasy, and realistic fiction like Seriously Weird (2003), receiving an Honorary MA from Exeter University in 1984.Gene Kemp
