François-Régis Bastide

François-Régis Bastide (1926-1996) was a French writer, diplomat, politician, and radio host best known for his novels Les Adieux (Prix Femina 1956) and essay Saint-Simon par lui-même (Grand Prix de la Critique 1953), along with hosting the influential literary program Le Masque et la Plume for decades and serving as ambassador under Mitterrand.
