Frank Moorhouse (1938-2022) was an acclaimed Australian author renowned for his innovative short stories, novels, essays, and scripts, most notably the Edith Trilogy—Grand Days (1993), Dark Palace (2001), and Cold Light (2011)—which earned him the Miles Franklin Literary Award for Dark Palace among other honors including the ALS Gold Medal and Member of the Order of Australia.
