Francisco Cantú

Francisco Cantú is an American writer, translator, and former U.S. Border Patrol agent who served from 2008 to 2012 in the deserts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. His debut book, a memoir recounting his experiences and their aftermath, won the 2018 Los Angeles Times Book Prize and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in nonfiction. A lifelong Southwest resident, he now teaches creative writing at the University of Arizona in Tucson.Francisco Cantú website.
