Forrest Reid

Forrest Reid (1875-1947) was an Irish novelist, literary critic, and translator, best known as a leading pre-war British novelist of boyhood and a noted Ulster writer. His most notable works include the Tom Barber trilogy (Young Tom, The Retreat, Uncle Stephen) and The Garden God, with major achievements such as winning the 1944 James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Young Tom and acclaimed critical studies on W. B. Yeats.
