About Florence Delay

Florence Delay (1941–2025) was a French writer, actress, and translator best known for her novels such as Riche et légère (Prix Femina 1983), essays like Dit Nerval (Prix de l'Essai de l'Académie française), and collaborative plays Graal Théâtre with Jacques Roubaud. She portrayed Joan of Arc in Robert Bresson's 1962 film The Trial of Joan of Arc and was elected to the Académie française in 2000.
