Flannery O'Connor (1925-1964) was an American author renowned for her Southern Gothic fiction, including novels Wise Blood and The Violent Bear It Away, and short story collections such as A Good Man Is Hard to Find and Everything That Rises Must Converge. Despite battling lupus, she produced profound works exploring morality, grace, and the grotesque, with her Complete Stories earning the 1972 National Book Award for Fiction.
