About Fausta Cialente

Fausta Cialente (1898–1994) was an Italian novelist, journalist, and political activist known for her feminist themes and anti-fascist writings. Novel. Her notable works include Natalia (1930), which faced fascist censorship for its depiction of a lesbian relationship, Cortile a Cleopatra (1936), and Le quattro ragazze Wieselberger (1976), for which she won the prestigious Strega Prize. Books. She lived in Egypt from 1921 to 1947, broadcasting anti-fascist messages from Radio Cairo during WWII, before returning to Italy and later moving to England.
