About Evangeline Walton
Evangeline Walton (1907-1996) was an American fantasy author best known for her Mabinogion tetralogy—The Island of the Mighty, The Children of Llyr, The Song of Rhiannon, and Prince of Annwn—retellings of Welsh myths praised for humanizing mythological subjects with eloquence and compassion. She received the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for The Song of Rhiannon in 1973, World Fantasy Convention awards in 1985 and Lifetime Achievement in 1989, among other honors. Other notable works include Witch House and The Sword Is Forged.
