Emmanuel Carrère

Emmanuel Carrère (born December 9, 1957) is a French author, screenwriter, and filmmaker known for his innovative blend of autobiography, biography, and nonfiction novels exploring themes of identity, deception, and reality. Notable works include The Adversary (2000), a bestseller about murderer Jean-Claude Romand; Class Trip (1995); Limonov (2011); and The Kingdom (2014), with major awards such as the Prix Femina (1995), Prix Renaudot (2011), and Princess of Asturias Award for Literature (2021) Fundación Princesa de Asturias.
