Elizabeth Partridge (born September 1, 1951) is an American author of young adult nonfiction biographies and picture books, often focusing on artists, musicians, photographers, and pivotal moments in American history, such as the lives of Dorothea Lange, Woody Guthrie, and John Lennon, and the Japanese American incarceration. Her notable works include Restless Spirit: The Life and Work of Dorothea Lange, This Land Was Made for You and Me: The Life and Music of Woody Guthrie, John Lennon: All I Want Is the Truth, Marching for Freedom, Boots on the Ground: America’s War in Vietnam, and Seen and Unseen. She has received major awards including the 2023 Robert F. Sibert Medal, National Book Award finalist, Boston Globe–Horn Book Award Honor (twice), Los Angeles Times Book Prize, Michael L.
