Eiko Kadono

Eiko Kadono is a Japanese author of children's literature, picture books, non-fiction, and essays, born January 1, 1935, in Tokyo. During World War II, she was evacuated to northern Japan as a child and later graduated with a degree in English literature from Waseda University, after which she lived in Brazil for two years.
