About Edward Sackville West

Edward Sackville-West (1901-1965) was a British novelist, music critic, and author best known for his semi-autobiographical novels such as Piano Quintet (1925) and Simpson: A Life (1931), and his biography A Flame in Sunlight: The Life and Work of Thomas De Quincey (1936), for which he won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
