About Edward O. Wilson

Edward Osborne Wilson (1929–2021) was an American biologist, naturalist, and entomologist renowned for pioneering sociobiology and island biogeography, with notable works including Sociobiology: The New Synthesis, On Human Nature, and The Ants. He won two Pulitzer Prizes for General Nonfiction (On Human Nature in 1979 and The Ants in 1991), the U.S. National Medal of Science, and numerous other awards for his contributions to ecology and conservation.
