About Edward Channing

Edward Perkins Channing (1856-1931) was an American historian and Harvard professor who authored the monumental six-volume History of the United States (1905-1925), a standard reference for scholars due to its thorough research and judicious judgments. AHA. He won the 1926 Pulitzer Prize for History for volume six, The War for Southern Independence, and served as president of the American Historical Association in 1920.NYT 1931, NNDB.
