Dulce María Loynaz (1902-1997) was a Cuban poet, novelist, and lawyer, considered one of the foremost figures in Cuban and Ibero-American literature. She published her first poems at age 17 and earned a doctorate in civil law from the University of Havana in 1927, while producing major works like the novel Jardín (1951) and poetry collections such as Juegos de agua (1947).
