About Donald L. Robinson
Donald L. Robinson is an American political scientist, Charles N. Clark Professor Emeritus of Government at Smith College, whose academic research focuses on American political and constitutional development.Smith College He authored notable works such as Slavery in the Structure of American Politics, 1765–1820 (winner of the Annisfield-Wolff Award), To the Best of My Ability: The Presidency and the Constitution, Partners for Democracy (co-authored), and Town Meeting: Practicing Democracy in Rural New England, and has contributed as a PBS panelist, Ford Foundation consultant, international lecturer, and monthly columnist for the Daily Hampshire Gazette since 2004.Anisfield-Wolf Book Award His achievements include editing key volumes on government reform and Japan's postwar constitution.Smith College
