Domenico Starnone (born February 15, 1943, in Saviano, Italy) is an acclaimed Italian novelist, screenwriter, and journalist whose works often explore family dynamics and Neapolitan life. His most notable novel, Via Gemito (The House on Via Gemito), won Italy's prestigious Strega Prize in 2001, along with the Naples Prize for Literature, and was longlisted for the 2024 International Booker Prize in English translation; other key works include Ties, Trick, and Trust.
