DJ Taylor

David John Taylor (born 1960) is a British critic, novelist, and biographer known for his acclaimed biographies Orwell: The Life (2003), which won the Whitbread Biography Award, and Thackeray (1999), as well as novels like Derby Day (2011), longlisted for the Man Booker Prize. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature since 1997, he has also received the Grinzane Cavour Prize and Sidewise Award, and continues to publish recent works including Orwell: The New Life (2023).
