About Diran Adebayo

Oludiran "Diran" Adebayo (born 1968) is a British novelist, cultural critic, and academic of Nigerian descent, best known for his debut novel Some Kind of Black (1996), which won the Saga Prize, Authors' Club Best First Novel Award, Writers' Guild New Writer of the Year, and Betty Trask Award, and was longlisted for the Booker Prize.
