Dexter Filkins

Dexter Filkins (born 1961) is an American journalist renowned for his frontline reporting on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for The New York Times and later The New Yorker. His most notable work, The Forever War (2008), won the National Book Critics Circle Award for nonfiction and was named a best book of the year by major outlets including The New York Times and The Washington Post. He has received a Pulitzer Prize (2009), two George Polk Awards, and multiple Overseas Press Club Awards for his reporting.
