About Dennis Cooper

Dennis Cooper (born January 10, 1953) is an American novelist, poet, critic, and performance artist best known for his George Miles Cycle, a series of five semi-autobiographical novels (Closer, Frisk, Try, Guide, Period) exploring obsession and human relationships. Notable works also include The Sluts, which won France's Prix Sade in 2007 and a Lambda Literary Award, and Closer, recipient of the first Ferro-Grumley Award for gay literature. He founded the punk zine Little Caesar Magazine and has collaborated extensively in theater and film.
