David Hay Newsome (1929-2004) was a British historian and educator renowned for his works on Victorian England, including the Whitbread Prize-winning On the Edge of Paradise: A. C. Benson, the Diarist (1980), Godliness and Good Learning (1961), The Parting of Friends (1966), and The Victorian World Picture (1997).
