About David Malouf

David George Joseph Malouf (born 20 March 1934) is an Australian writer of Lebanese and English descent, known for his poetry, novels, and short stories exploring identity, history, and place. His notable works include the Miles Franklin-winning novel The Great World and the Booker-shortlisted Remembering Babylon, for which he also received the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. He has been awarded the Neustadt International Prize for Literature and lives in Queensland.
