About David Lodge
David Lodge (1935-2025) was an English author and literary critic renowned for his satirical campus novels, including the Campus Trilogy—Changing Places (1975), Small World (1984), and Nice Work (1988)—two of which were Booker Prize shortlists, as well as How Far Can You Go? (1980, Whitbread Book of the Year). A former University of Birmingham professor, he explored themes of academia and Catholicism, earning awards like the CBE (1998), Hawthornden Prize, and FRSL fellowship before dying at 89.
