David Brin

Glen David Brin (born 1950) is an American hard science fiction author best known for his Uplift series, including Startide Rising (Hugo, Nebula, and Locus Award winner) and The Uplift War (Hugo and Locus winner), as well as the novel The Postman, adapted into a feature film starring Kevin Costner.
