Dantiel W. Moniz is an American author born in 1989 in Jacksonville, Florida. Her debut short story collection, Milk Blood Heat (2021), was a finalist for the PEN/Jean Stein Award, PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize, and New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award, among other honors; she has also received a National Book Foundation "5 Under 35" award, a Pushcart Prize, the Alice Hoffman Prize for Fiction, and a 2024 USA Fellowship.
